The Printing Process
1Artwork
The first step to producing a printed piece is to have a professional graphic artist produce a press ready art file. Typically companies will either contract a pre-press graphic designer to create the peice entirely or to fix a non-press art file. To best serve our clients Fairmount Printers has retained contracts with qualified graphic designers.
2Plates
The next step is to produce plates. There will be one plate per color for multitone printing and four plates for a full color printing. These plates may be archived to save future printing costs.
3Printing
The next step is printing. After printing is complete individual pieces may be cut apart or trimed for size.
4Binding and Die Cut
Finally some pieces need to be bound, folded, scored, and/or cut.
